Aaron Eckhardt to play ze monster in 'I, Frankenstein'
Handsome star Aaron Eckhardt seems to insist on messing up his good looks in the name of cinema.
Best known for playing the disfigured Batman nemesis Two-Face in "The Dark Knight," Eckhardt will now be stepping into the platform shoes of history's most misunderstood monster in "I, Frankenstein," reports EW.com.
Writer-director Stuart Beattie (who co-wrote "30 Days of Night" and "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," among others) will direct, based on the graphic novel by Kevin Grevioux.
The story finds Frankenstein's monster drifting into a modern-day outlaw town where he finds himself in the middle of two warring factions, ala "Yojimbo" or "A Fistful of Dollars."
"I, Frankenstein" starts shooting in January, aiming for a February 22, 2013 release.
