Lionsgate may team Kelsey Grammer, Martin Lawrence for a comedy series
No. This doesn't sound like a recipe for disaster at all.
Lionsgate and Debmar-Mercury are looking to pair Kelsey Grammer and Martin Lawrence in a TV comedy, according to Deadline.com.
The Grammer/Lawrence project doesn't have any of those pesky things like "a writer" or "a premise," but the site says that it will be a buddy series with "an odd couple feel."
The potential comedy also doesn't have a network home, but it's expected that it would be set up with the same structure as previous Debmar-Mercury productions like "Anger Management," "House of Payne," "Meet The Browns" and "Are We There Yet," in that it would have a 10-episode initial order with the subsequent triggering of a back-90 order if certain thresholds are met.
Grammer is coming off a two-season, Golden Globe-winning run on Starz' boss, while Lawrence starred in a CBS comedy pilot last development season.
