Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' eyes John Krasinski and others

While DC and Warner Bros. begin to firm up their plans for "Justice League," Marvel is well underway with their cinematic Phase II, which includes the ambitious "Guardians of the Galaxy," being directed by James Gunn.

Rumors continue to pop up about who will be in the film. It was reported earlier that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is being eyed to play Peter Quills/Star-Lord, but Marvel is apparently still looking at other actors as well. "The Office" star John Krasinski is among the many names (including Michael Rosenbaum and Jim Sturgess) being looked at by Marvel to play the key role, according to what a source told Comic Book Movie.

Meanwhile, the same source also said that Isaiah Mustafa (from the Old Spice commercials), Brian Patrick Wade (the unrelated "The Guardian") and former WWE Superstar Dave Bautista ("the Man With the Iron Fists") are all being considered for the role of the hulking hero Drax.

While none of the roles have yet been confirmed, it appears that Marvel is getting closer and closer to selecting their "Guardians," who will reportedly face the villainous Thanos. The intergalactic menace was glimpsed at the end of "The Avengers" and is rumored to be returning in that film's 2015 sequel as well.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" is scheduled for release summer 2014.
