Vampire Weekend confirms new album plans for 2013

After performing new material on shows like "Jimmy Kimmel" and at a Sandy benefit show this fall, Vampire Weekend have confirmed that they indeed plan to release a new set in 2013. The group opened up to Spin and Q Magazine in articles out this week, divulging new details.

The as-yet-untitled set was produced by member Rostam Batmanglij and Ariel Rechtshaid (Usher, Major Lazer, Charli XCX) and will be out some time this spring. Two songs confirmed to make the tracklist cut include "Obvious Bicycle" and "Diane Young."

Ezra Koenig has called the set "dark" and "organic."

The band's last "Contra" came out in January 2010.
