Megadeth's Dave Mustaine blames Aurora shootings on President Obama, refuses to apologize

During a Megadeth tour stop in Singapore, the metal band's lead singer took the opportunity to share some special conspiracy theories about President Barack Obama.

"Back in my country, my president is trying to pass a gun ban," he said. "So he's staging all of these murders, like the Fast and Furious thing down at the border and Aurora, Colorado, all the people that were killed there. And now the beautiful people at the Sikh temple."

A video of the brief, odd rant was posted to YouTube this week. After a very public outcry over the offending comments, Mustaine took to libertarian (and conspiracy theorist) Alex Jones' radio show.

Mustaine said he was merely "quoting" gun lobbyist Larry Pratt when he took the stage, and that he thinks the various U.S.-based shootings should require more investigation.

"In the heat of the moment, when you’re on stage and you're talking, sometimes you're not as eloquent as you'd like to be. We really need to investigate and we need to have the attorney general release the documents and find out who's responsible. People died, and the democratic process is, 'Let's investigate this.' I've always been controversial. I'm a political songwriter. This wasn't done to hurt any of my fellow countrymen."
