Black Eyed Peas' Central Park concert back on, sans Taylor Swift
Thousands of music fans in New York's Central Park were sent packing on June 9 when lightning prevented a big-marquee show from going on. Now, the concert featuring the Black Eyed Peas has been rescheduled for Sept. 30, but without many of the famous names rounding out the lineup.
It appears that Taylor Swift, Tony Bennett, Carole King, and LL Cool J will not be on bill; it will be BEP alone.
Previously, 54,000 free tickets were issued in a random giveaway; those ticket holders will be given first dibs on this rescheduled event. VIP tickets -- which start at $250 a piece -- serve to benefit the Robin Hood Foundation. "Obviously, if any special friends come about we will announce them," said a spokesperson. "At this point it’s just a Black Eyed Peas concert."
“I was devastated when the Concert 4 NYC was canceled. This was the biggest show we had ever prepared for and we felt horrible for all the fans who waited in the rain,” said BEP's Fergie. “We have nothing but love for New York and are thrilled that we found a new date to not only help fight poverty in NYC, but to perform a once in a lifetime show for our fans.”
