Madonna's Toronto Film Festival Volunteer Controversy
Madonna's embroilment in Volunteergate continues.
After the Toronto Globe reported that the superstar treated the volunteers at the Toronto Film Festival (where her latest directorial effort, "W.E" was largely panned) in a not-so-nice way, even going as far as asking them not to look her in the eye, fans thought the Material Girl had gone to far.
The singer-actress-director's camp, though, says that's nonsense. A released statement reads, "Neither Madonna nor her security ever gave instructions for the volunteers to turn away from Madonna. In fact she was so impressed with the volunteers that she publicly thanked them from the stage for their hard work before the premiere of her film last night which earned a standing ovation."
It also says, "We are still trying to figure out who and why anyone would ask the volunteers to turn away from Madonna." The guilty party better 'fess up -- Madonna's not someone you want as an enemy.
