Slayer announces 'Repentless' new album
Metal pioneers Slayer have announced their first new album in six years, "Repentless."
The 12-song set will be out on Sept. 11, according to Metal Hammer; it will include some new versions of old songs and an album-attached release of their single "Implode."
“Every version of those songs you may have heard before is different, so I think that’s cool, but I also wanted them to be part of a collection,” guitarist Kerry King told the magazine. “I like the finality of songs belonging on a record.”
Slayer last released "World Painted Blood" in 2009. Founding member Jeff Hanneman died in 2013, making "Repentless" the group's first since his passing. — Katie Hasty
