Lady GaGa promises Kanye West tour will be plenty gay
Lady GaGa will be hitting the road with rapper Kanye West this fall, but before anything else, she told him, “I just want to be clear before we decide to do this together: I’m gay. My music is gay. My show is gay. And I love that it’s gay. And I love my gay fans and they’re all going to be coming to our show. And it’s going to remain gay.” The comments came from her recent interview with Out Magazine, in which she gave some other distinguishing remarks. "I myself am not a gay woman -- I am a free-spirited woman: I have had boyfriends, and I have hooked up with women, but it’s never been like ‘I discovered gayness when I was dot dot dot.’”
When the tour thing kicks off, puportedly in mid-October, this will have some interesting implications for the pop/hip-hop mish-mash. Rappers aren't exactly known for embracing gay culture, for one, so Kanye's influence on the urban music space is sure to be tested.
