'Reno 911!' goes off-duty
There's only one way to learn important information in the entertainment biz these days: Via Twitter.
On Thursday (Aug. 13) afternoon, Thomas Lennon tweeted "Reno 911! was cancelled at 1:30 pm today. Won't be wearing the shorts again."
And that was that for "Reno 911!," which ran for six season and 88 beloved episodes on Comedy Central, starring Lennon, Ben Garant, Niecy Nash, Kerri Kenney and others. No parade. No grand press release. Just a tweet about short-shorts.
In addition to its series run, in which it was nominated for zero Emmys, zero Golden Globes and zero SAG Awards (but one GLAAD Media Award!), "Reno 911!" spawned a moderately successful feature film, which earned zero Oscar nominations.
