Jon Heder is set to play the lead role in the sci fi comedy "Buddy Holly Is Alive and Well on Ganymede."

While the "Napoleon Dynamite" star just might resemble the rock-n-roll legend, were you to cut his hair and give him glasses, Heder will play Oliver Vale, an average geek who begins seeing Buddy Holly on every TV station. Somehow aliens become involved, which would probably make more sense if you'd read Bradley Denton's novel.

According to Variety, Robert Rugan will write and direct.

Production on "Buddy Holly" will begin when Heder has downtime from his currently untitled Comedy Central sitcom.
