Report: Zack Snyder's 'Superman' is shooting in Vancouver
"Superman" appears to be staying on North American Soil. Bryan Singer's "Superman Returns" shot in Australia a few years ago, but Zack Snyder's "Superman" is heading to Vancouver, B.C. Well, at least according to a local film official.
Peter Leitch, chair of the Motion Picture Production Industry Association of BC and president of North Shore Studios and Mammoth Studios didn't name "Superman" specifically, but told the Toronto Globe and Mail Snyder's next picture would film in the British Columbia city. Snyder is no stranger to Vancouver having shot "Watchmen" there in 2007 and 2008.
After a slow period, Vancouver has seen something of a rebound with big U.S. movies such as "Rise of the Apes" and "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" filming there. No word on when the new "Superman" will begin shooting exactly, but it's expected to lens sometime in 2011.
