'Key and Peele's' Substitute Teacher sketch may be heading to the big screen
The Comedy Central duo Key and Peele are keeping busy, but they still have time to go back to school.
The duo have just launched a new season of their hit sketch show, and are already working on a film with Judd Apatow and a "Police Academy" reboot.
Now it's been revealed that they hope to bring sketch favorite Mr. Garvey— the ornery substitute teacher who takes roll call for an insubordinate and churlish class -- to the big screen.
“We’re in negotiations at Paramount to make a ‘Substitute Teacher’ movie,” Keegan Michael Key told EW. "Two of our writers are penning it. Well, they’re not penning it as we speak -- it’s getting there."
