Report: Karen Gillan's "Doctor Who" run is ending
Will it soon be time for The Doctor to get a new companion?
It sounds that way.
Current series boss Steven Moffatt teased this week that Gillan's Amy Pond and hubby Rory are transitioning out of the show and that Matt Smith's Doctor will get "a new friend."
Gillan joined the "Who" team with Smith and spent two series as the Doctor's companion.
"We took over the show and we really had to hold hands and help each other through it. It's very disappointing. But this show is about change and regeneration," Smith says.
Moffatt offered no details on how the Ponds will be departing or when and even if he had, we wouldn't want to spoil the fun or the sadness or whatever he decides to do.
