Hayden Christensen sues USA over 'Royal Pains'
Did the original idea for USA's medical series "Royal Pains" come from occasional movie star Hayden Christensen? That's what the "Star Wars" prequels star is claiming.
According to The New York Post, Christensen and his older brother filed suit in a Manhattan federal court earlier this week claiming that they came up with the original idea for a dramedy about a concierge doctor to the rich and famous.
The suit claims that in 2005, the pitched USA brass on a pilot called "Housecall" and that, at the time, a USA executive admitted to being unaware of the concept of "concierge doctors." The report offers no additional similarities between "Housecall" and "Royal Pains."
Admittedly, law suits of this sort are fairly common in Hollywood, though it's rare that they involve the star of "Jumper" and "Higher Ground."
USA had no comment to the paper.
