Blair Underwood is NBC's new 'Ironside'

NBC has given a pilot order to its reboot of the '60s classic "Ironside," with Blair Underwood in the lead role.

In case you don't remember the original "Ironside," NBC says that the new version focuses on "A tough, sexy but acerbic police detective relegated to a wheelchair after a shooting is hardly limited by his disability as he pushes and prods his hand-picked team to solve the most difficult cases in the city."

Yeah. That's kinda what the Raymond Burr series that ran from 1967-1975 was about.

Underwood is hoping to return to NBC, where he starred in "The Event."

Stay tuned for more updates on "Ironside," which comes from Michael Caleo, David Semel, Teri Weinberg, John Davis and Jon Fox.
