Does the "Justice League" movie need to be saved by a superhero?

The latest buzz scuttlebutt has it that the script by Will Beall ("Gangster Squad") has been rejected by Warner Bros. and will be re-written, reports Badassdigest. According to sources in the story, Beall's script -- which reportedly features the intergalactic warmonger Darkseid as the villain -- is "terrible," and that studio interference has significantly slowed things down. 

Unlike the relative ease with which the heroes of Marvel's "The Avengers" came together at Disney, Warner Bros. appears to be having difficulties finding ways to include other characters beside the five main names (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash and Green Lantern).

Likewise, the hunt for a name director has proved equally difficult.

Furthermore, recent reports have indicated that the studio is less-confident in "Justice League" than it was originally, and that they'll only give an official green light to the project if their Superman reboot "Man of Steel" meets box office expectations. 

Late last year, Warner Bros. was reported to be eyeing a summer 2015 release date for "Justice League" in order to compete with "The Avengers 2," but it's looking less and less likely they'll be able to meet that fast-approaching date.
