LCD Soundsystem nixes touring for 2011, may do another album
LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy was at the opening night of Art Basel Miami this week and showed a little bit of what his hand is at current.
He told Spinner in an video interview that LCD as a band won't be doing anymore touring in 2011, though they're weighing doing another record.
"It doesn't mean we won't make an album per se, but the process will be very different. We're done being just a pro rock ensemble," he said, mentioning that, next, he wants a vacation. After that, work more with his label DFA and "grow some food and cook it. He noted with some happiness knowing he doesn't exactly have a plan.
Interestingly, he also got into how the fantastic "Drunk Girls" video came about with Spike Jonze: last-minute. The two came up with the idea of working together on a Thursday, got serious on Friday, gathered materials on a Saturday and shot it in one take on Sunday.
