Q-Tip unhappy about Sundance-selected A Tribe Called Quest doc
As we reported earlier this week, "Beats, Rhymes and Life" -- the documentary on A Tribe Called Quest -- is headed to the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
But not everybody's happy about it.
Without revealing much detail, Tribe rapper and co-founder Q-Tip Tweeted his dismay.
"I am not in support of the a tribe called quest documentary. The filmmaker should respect the band to the point of honoring the few requests that's was made abt the piece… the filmmaker shld respect the band enough to honor our request regarding the the film," he posted.
The movie was shot by Mike Rappaport over an eight month period. The Sundance screenings will be its premiere.
