Lisa Edelstein jumps from 'House' to 'The Good Wife'

It didn't take Lisa Edelstein long after her abrupt "House" departure to book her primetime return.

According to TVLine.com, the former Dr. Cuddy -- Edelstein and NBC Universal Media Studios couldn't come to terms on a new contract last month -- will appear on multiple episodes of CBS' "The Good Wife," starting this fall.

The website reports that Edelstein will play "a lawyer and born poker player," whatever that means. The character apparently has a past with Josh Charles' Will, which presumably causes problems given where we left things in the finale with Will and Julianna Margulies' Alicia).

Before beginning her long run on "House," Edelstein's TV credits included "Ally McBeal," "The West Wing" and "Felicity."
