James McAvoy says 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' is 'biggest, most epic yet'
Just how big is the all-star mutant jamboree "X-Men: Days of Future Past" going to be?
James McAvoy -- who plays the younger version of Patrick Stewart's Professor X in the film -- thinks it'll be the biggest mutant movie yet.
"There’s an army of brilliant actors in that film. Bryan Singer is back at the helm. Potentially it’s going to be the biggest, most epic X-Men they’ve ever had," he told IGN. "I think it’s the second biggest production Fox have ever embarked upon, behind 'Avatar.' So they’re definitely going for it.”
"Future Past" is a time-bending story which allows stars of the first "X-Men" films such as Stewart, Ian McKellen and Hugh Jackman to mingle with such "First Class" stars as McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.
McAvoy also confirmed that he and Stewart will share some limited screen time, but that most of his scenes are with two other notable mutants. "Weirdly the people that I spent the most time with acting-wise was not Michael this time, it was Hugh and Nick. And whilst I bemoaned the loss of my buddy Michael, it was more than made up for by the fact that Hugh and Nick are such amazing people."
"X-Men: Days of Future Past" will be released May 23, 2014.
