Don Cheadle hopes to fund his Miles Davis biopic through crowdsourcing
He's played cops, criminals, astronauts and superheroes, but now Don Cheadle needs your help to play one of the coolest cats ever.
The Oscar nominee ("Hotel Rwanda") has turned to fans to help fund his long-gestating Miles Davis biopic "Miles Ahead" (formerly known as "Kill the Trumpet Player").
Cheadle's been working on the film about the iconic jazz legend for years now, and is planning to make the passion project his feature directorial debut. He'll also star as Davis.
Fans can contribute to the film on Indiegogo, where Cheadle is hoping to raise $325,000.
For a $6,000 pledge, you can visit the set of Cheadle's Showtime series "House of Lise," while $10,000 will score you a golf date with Cheadle. Beyond that, you can appear in the film and/or receive an associate producer credit. As of today (June 6), it has racked up an impressive $82,000. It will run until July 10.
"Miles" is also set to star Ewan McGregor and Zoe Saldana.
Cheadle currently stars on "House of Lies" and will be seen in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" next summer.
