'Man of Steel's' Henry Cavill wants a Superman/Batman movie
The Superman reboot "Man of Steel" won't be in theaters for a few more weeks, but star Henry Cavill already knows who he wants to work with next: Batman.
The idea of a Batman/Superman film pairing has been floating around for years, with Warner Bros. at one point enlisting "Troy" director Wolfgang Petersen to helm a film called "Batman vs. Superman." While that obviously didn't pan out, Cavill still likes the idea of suiting up as the bright, superheroic Man of Steel opposite the brooding, brutal Dark Knight.
“I think it would be really interesting with the age-old Batman/Superman conflict," Cavill told SFX, "because they are two different sides of the same coin and their methods are entirely different. And I think it would actually make for an interesting story as to why, first of all, they were going head to head and how. I think that would make a great story."
So, will Warner Bros. be just as excited for the potential idea?
"Who knows?," Cavill mused. "I’m sure there’s all sorts of ideas being thrown around at Warner Bros right now."
Many of those ideas may have to wait and see how well "Man of Steel" performs once it opens on June 14.
