'Man of Steel 2' production details, budget revealed
We don't know much about the plot of Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" sequel -- other than it will introduce Superman (Henry Cavill) to Batman (Ben Affleck) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) -- but some new details about the film's production plans and budget have been released.
The Warner Bros. sequel is being lensed primarily in studio-friendly Michigan in several locations, including the high-tech Motion Picture Studios in Pontiac, as well as some locations in Detroit.
Michigan Film Office rep Michelle Grinnell told The Inquisitr that "Batman vs. Superman" (as it's unofficially known) will be the largest production ever shot in MI.
The shoot will likely bring in around $5 million and add some 6,000 jobs to the cash-strapped state.
Grinnell added that "MoS 2's" MI shoot will have a budget of $131 million, surpassing Sam Raimi's "Oz: The Great And Powerful," which was shot there in 2011.
If the figure seems small for what's likely to be one of the biggest films of 2015, bear in mind that it doesn't include other locations, post-production or marketing costs.
