Strong numbers for 'Big Love,' 'Secret Life' and 'Archer'
An assortment of cable series had strong launches over the week.
On HBO, the fourth season premiere of "Big Love" drew 1.7 million viewers, up from 1.2 million viewers for the third season premiere.
This numbers paled in comparison to the 4.5 million viewers who tuned in for the return of ABC's "Secret Life of the American Teenage," the show's second biggest audience to date. "Secret Life" helped "Make It or Break It" to a series-high 2.7 million viewers in its midseason return, its largest audience.
FX's "Archer" premiered on Thursday (Jan. 14) to an audience of 1.8 million viewers today. The animated comedy's delivery among adults 18-34 -- 786,000 -- was FX's best ever for a comedy series premiere. An encore of the fall's "Archer" pilot drew 1.4 million, airing after the premiere.
On the downside, FX's return of "Nip/Tuck," the first episode of the show's finale run, drew only 1.7 million viewers.
