Tim Roth, David Cronenberg teaming for 'Knifeman' TV project

Tim Roth and David Cronenberg collaborating on a TV series? Sign us up!

According to Deadline.com, Roth has signed on to star in "Knifeman," a currently network-less drama series from Media Rights Capital.

The project is expected to be pitched to networks as a straight-to-series venture, with Cronenberg directing the first episode, which was written by Rolin Jones ("Friday Night Lights").

Roth will play a self-educated surgeon who "will go to unorthodox lengths to uncover the secrets of the human body." Hmmm. We don't know what that means.

Stay tuned to find out what network will land this intriguing drama.
