'Terriers,' 'American Beauty,' 'My Boys' stars join NBC pilots

Mena Suvari, Kyle Howard and Michael Raymond-James all joined NBC comedies this week.

Suvari ("American Horror Story") and Howard ("My Boys") will co-star in an untitled single-camera comedy from writer Hilary Winston, reports Deadline.com. The pilot focuses on a shy woman who is dumped by her fiance and gets help from her co-workers to change her life. Suvari and Howard will play two chemists on the main character's team.

Meanwhile, Raymond-James will play an Alaskan cop in "Midnight Sun," which focuses on a group of law enforcement officials investigating the disappearance of a cult in Alaska.

Raymond-James was most recently seen on AMC's "The Walking Dead," but he's best known either for his role on "True Blood" or, hopefully, for his lead turn in FX's "Terriers."
