M. Night Shyamalan brings Moby Dick-inspired pilot to NBC

With his feature film career maybe not going so well, M. Night Shyamalan is making a big push on the small screen.

According to Deadline.com, Shyamalan and John Glenn have landed a put pilot commitment from NBC for a drama pilot called "Lost Horizon."

The report says that the pilot is set in an East Coast fishing village and has shades of a modern-day Moby Dick.

This is Shyamalan's first pilot sale to a network, but in August he and Marti Noxon received a put pilot commitment from Syfy for "Proof," which he may also direct.

The "Sixth Sense" director's next feature is Summer 2013's "After Earth," starring Will Smith.
