'Captain America: Winter Soldier' to shoot in Cleveland and New Mexico
Captain America is returning to Cleveland.
After much of "The Avengers" was filmed in the Ohio city, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is following suit, planning to shoot in Cleveland, with some footage to be shot in New Mexico and California.
The Ohio shoot will also be a homecoming for directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who are Cleveland natives. Their first feature film, "Welcome to Collinwood," was set in the city and starred George Clooney, William H. Macy and Sam Rockwell.
Filming will begin in March.
"Winter Soldier" will take place after "The Avengers," and will follow Cap (Chris Evans) as he continues to adjust to life in the 21st Century. His "Avengers" co-star Scarlett Johansson will appear as Black Widow, while Sebastian Stan is also reprising his role as the seemingly deceased Bucky.
Emilia Clarke ("Game of Thrones") and Alison Brie ("Community") are reportedly being considered for the female lead.
"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" will be released April 4, 2014.
