Johnny Depp won't be meeting up with "Moonrise Kingdom" writer-director Wes Anderson at the "Grand Budapest Hotel" after all.

Although Depp was reported to be starring in the mysterious film (Anderson has simply described it as "Euro"), the director has set the record straight, telling The Huffington Post that the Oscar nominee has never been attached to the film. 

When asked about the upcoming film and its reported star Depp, Anderson answered, "It's not Johnny Depp.  The Internet has a way of announcing things on its own. You will find that even though I'm very aware of the cast that has been announced on its own devices, you'll never find me saying who's in the movie. Or, as far as I know, anybody else. I really don't know where it all comes from."

That doesn't rule out any potential future collaborations however. "Johnny is somebody who I would love to work with at some point, but he's not going to be in this movie," Anderson explained. "But I actually have not put the cast out -- I have not announced the cast. We have quite a great cast."

The cast for "Grand Budapest Hotel" is rumored to include Jude Law, Angela Lansbury and Anderson regular Owen Wilson. All we know for sure is that Bill Murray -- who's been in every Anderson film since 1998's "Rushmore" -- will appear in it.
