'The Cleveland Show' isn't cancelled... yet
It was a week of badly sourced rumors that inexplicably inspired legitimate publications to debunk nonreporting from illegitimate sources. This gallery also includes the out-of-left-field rumor of a "Friends" rumor that isn't happening. Well, the cancellation of "The Cleveland Show" is a bit more ambiguous.
You see, two weeks ago, The Animation Guild blog discussed ratings for FOX's animated Sunday shows and declared flatly that "The Cleveland Show" had been cancelled. It wasn't written as news-breaking. It was just a statement of fact, even though it's never been confirmed as fact. Then, a sold week later, the CartoonBrew website wrote up the Animation Guild report as actively breaking news, even though nobody else had given a second's thought to what was in the Animation Guild story.
Per EW.com, "The Cleveland Show" hasn't been cancelled. It just hasn't been ordered for additional episodes, which probably should have happened by now, given animation lead-times. The fate of "The Cleveland Show" won't be official until May, but even then "Family Guy" and "King of the Hill" are examples of shows that FOX has suspended or outright cancelled only to order additional episodes.
