Chord Overstreet isn't necessarily done on 'Glee'
When it was reported two weeks ago that Darren Criss and Harry Shum Jr. had been promoted to "Glee" regulars, but Chord Overstreet had not been, there was great outcry over the unsubstantiated notion that Overstreet had been fired.
We didn't write about the story, because we pretty much assumed that contractual status at "Glee" is just that: Contractual status and that Overstreet could still recur.
That's the case, according to TVLine.
A source tells the website, "His option to be a series regular was just not picked up at this time. If Chord wants to appear on 'Glee,' the choice is his. The 'Glee' writers like his Sam character, and have plans to write for him. He and his reps have been told that he is welcome back to 'Glee,' and everyone hopes he will show up on August 10 when filming begins."
We're only writing about this now because of the number of websites and Twitter feeds dedicated to saving Overstreet from... nothing, apparently.
