'How Do You Know' fighting for PG-13 rating
At least in our minds, James L. Brooks is not especially a controversial figure nor a "bad boy" of cinema. Nonetheless, he may be in hot water as the MPAA has refused to drop the R rating it gave to the seemingly sweet "How Do You Know" for language. This MPAA has been cracking down lately, giving British highbrow drama "The Kings Speech" an unexpected R and indie romance "Blue Valentine" a box office devastating NC-17.
His appeal is now over, but Brooks and the studio are expected to work with the MPAA and make the cuts, overdubs or adjustments necessary to bring this filthy filthy language under control and get a PG-13 rating, so that decent people can see it.
