'Glee' hires an actual writing staff
Normally, it wouldn't be all that newsworthy for a TV show to hire a staff of writers, but when that TV show is "Glee," it's at least vaguely notable.
For the Emmy-winning FOX musical dramedy's first two seasons, every single episode was written by co-creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. Some people have questioned whether or not that was necessarily a wise idea, but it happened.
According to Deadline.com, though, six writers have been hired to assist on the third season.
Most prominent is "Chuck" and "No Ordinary Family" veteran Allison Adler, who will serve as co-executive producer. Joining as co-producer as Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who most recently was in charge of overhauling the book for Broadway's "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark." Loved and hated "Buffy," "Angel" and "Mad Men" veteran Marti Noxon will be a consulting producer next season, as will recognizable character actor and Christopher Guest favorite Michael Hitchcock. Matt Hodgson and Ross Maxwell will be staff writers.
