'Nashville' loses T Bone Burnett as music supervisor
T Bone Burnett will not be returning to "Nashville" next season in in previous capacity as executive music producer.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Burnett, who just happens to be married to "Nashville" creator Callie Khouri, determined that his wealth of additional music, TV and movie projects made it impossible for him to continue with the ABC drama.
Burnett was responsible for producing or co-producing the myriad original songs and covers that were featured during the first season of "Nashville."
While much of the credit for the musical authenticity of "Nashville" went to Burnett, he's not exactly leaving the show in inexperienced hands. Buddy Miller, who served as Burnett's No. 2 in the first season, will take over the gig.
