Will Edward Norton return to play the Hulk in 'The Avengers'?
"The Incredible Hulk" reboot may not have been the blockbuster "Iron Man" was last year, but Edward Norton is still keen on playing the gamma radiated Dr. Bruce Banner.
Speaking to MTV News, Norton says he'd be keen to return as an adversary to Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and whoever else will be in the founding Avengers membership when "The Avengers" his theaters in 2012.
Norton tells MTV, "In the comics, there was always a tension between [the Hulk and] the rest of the superhero community and he was always this problem... They treat him as this problem. I think that's a fun way to go with it."
Norton, who became very involved in the screenwriting and editing process of "Incredible," hadn't seemed so keen on returning before, but that may have changed with Marvel topper Kevin Feige hinting that the Hulk would likely appear in "The Avengers."
In the Marvel comic book universe the Hulk was a founding member of The Avengers, but soon found himself in their crosshairs as his out of control behavior became unacceptable. Eventually Banner's cousin, Jennifer Walters turned into the very sane She-Hulk and became a longtime member in good standing of the superhero group.
