Jimmy Kimmel has landed the coveted and potentially dangerous gig as featured entertainer at the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.
The annual gala will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 and will be the 98th WHCA dinner.
"Jimmy's humor is sophisticated and edgy while appealing to a wide audience," stated Caren Bohan, a Reuters journalist and president of the White House Correspondents' Association. "We are thrilled that Jimmy has accepted our invitation to be the featured comedian at our annual dinner."
Seth Meyers was last year's featured entertainer and earned rave reviews. Other recent entertainers have included Jay Leno, Wanda Sykes, Craig Ferguson and a controversial (and in some quarters revered) appearance by Stephen Colbert, which led to Rich Little appearing the following year.
