Susan Sarandon signs on for 'The Big C'
Oscar winner Susan Sarandon has signed on to appear in "several" third season episodes of Showtime's "The Big C."
How many episodes does "several" mean? We don't know, but Sarandon will play Joy, a cancer survivor who helps Cathy (Laura Linney) reevaluate her own cancer experience.
Although she's best known for Oscar-friendly roles in films like "Dead Man Walking" and "The Client," Sarandon has also earned Emmy nominations for the telefilms "You Don't Know Jack" and "Bernard and Doris." At the recently completed Sundance Film Festival, she appeared in "Arbitrage" and "Robot and Frank."
"The Big C" returns to start its third season on April 8.
