Having already announced that the upcoming season of "The Closer" will be the show's last, TNT is reportedly looking for ways to keep the high-rated procedural around.
According to Deadline.com
, there are a variety of plans being loosely discussed.
Those plans include the possibility of adding six episodes to the upcoming seventh season, giving the show a 21-episode send-off. Another alternative would be an immediate order for either a Kyra Sedgwick-free version of "The Closer" or a spinoff built around other characters from the series.
"The Closer" remains one of TNT's biggest hits and helped the network launch "Rizzoli & Isles" to even bigger numbers last summer. Sedgwick also won her first Emmy for the series last fall.
Stay tuned to see what happens with "The Closer"...
