'Independence Day 2' eyes 'Fruitvale Station's' Michael B. Jordan
Breakout "Fruitvale Station" star Michael B. Jordan may soon be facing an alien invasion.
The young actor ("The Wire," "Chronicle") is circling a starring role in the long-delayed "Independence Day 2."
Jordan has reportedly met with director Roland Emmerich and 20th Century Fox, according to The Wrap. Although the report indicates that Jordan is up for a key role, nothing has been revealed about the character.
Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum are reprising their roles from the 1996 box office hit, but it's not currently known if Will Smith will return.
Jordan will next be seen opposite Zac Efron and Imogen Poots in "That Awkward Moment," and has signed on to appear in the "Rocky" spin-off "Creed" from "Fruitvale director Ryan Coogler. He's also reportedly Fox's top choice to play the Human Torch in the upcoming "Fantastic Four" reboot from director Josh Trank ("Chronicle").
"Independence Day 2" is tentatively set for a release on July 3, 2015.
