'Breaking Bad' star goes 'Under the Dome' with CBS
TV networks are just scooping up the stars of AMC's "Breaking Bad" in advance of the Emmy-winning drama's final season this summer.
Dean Norris is the latest "Breaking Bad" star to land a new gig, landing the lead villain role in CBS' summer event series "Under the Dome."
Norris will play Big Jim Rennie, a politician and car dealer who takes advantage of the mysterious dome isolating the small town of Chester's Mill to attempt to consolidate power. According to EW.com, James Spader and Don Johnson were also part of the casting search for the key role.
Other "Under the Dome" leads include Mike Vogel, Britt Robertson and Natalie Martinez. The Stephen King adaptation will premiere on June 24.
Meanwhile, Norris' TV wife Betsy Brandt was cast last month in Michael J. Fox's NBC comedy, Jonathan Banks is doing the NBC pilot "Bloodline" and Anna Gunn is doing a pilot for Bravo.
