Bluegrass veteran Ralph Stanley joins Nick Cave on John Hillcoat's 'Wettest County' soundtrack
John Hillcoat and musician/writer Nick Cave have collaborated on numerous occasions, and "The Wettest County" will be no exception, with the Bad Seed songwriter penning and scoring the thing.
But another music vet will be prominently featured in this Prohibition Era-based film. CMT is reporting that legendary bluegrass banjoist/singer Ralph Stanley, 84, will be lending his longstanding chops to three songs for the movie. Hal Wilner is producing those tracks.
"The Wettest County" features Jessica Chastain, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and Shia LaBeouf, and will be released in December.
