'Ghostbusters 3' without Bill Murray?
After years of delays and rumors, could "Ghostbusters 3" finally be hitting the big screeen? According to star Dan Aykroyd, "yes." Appearing on Dennis Miller's radio show "The Dennis Miller Show" on Thursday, Aykroyd said they had an "excellent script," will shoot in the spring of 2012 and would go ahead without the involvement of Billy Murray if necessary.
"What we have to remember is that 'Ghostbusters' is bigger than any one contributor to it," Aykroyd said during the interview." While Billy was absolutely the lead and was a massive contributor as was the director, Harold, myself, Sigourney. Y'know, the concept is bigger than any individual role and the promise of 'Ghostbusters 3' is that we get to hand the equipment and the franchise down to new blood."
As for that new blood, Aykroyd specifically mentioned "Criminal Minds" star Matthew Gray Gubler as a possible new "Ghostbuster."
No word from Sony Pictures if Aykroyd's claims are legit and/or if a confirmed director is on board. To hear more click here.

Typo 1. There should be a question mark after the word "students."
August 27, 2011 at 5:16PM EST2. Avoid beginning a sentence with a number that is not written out.
3. The word "Story" does not need to be capitalized.
Please ensure that these mistakes are avoided in future comments. Thank you for your compliance.

August 27, 2011 at 11:05AM EST Reply to CommentGhostbusters 3 sounds like it could be an even bigger disaster than the second one. I'm just not interested in an Indy 4-level Ghostbusters debacle. I would be cooler with them doing it without any of the original cast than all of them doing sans Murray.

Personally, I'd go with Paul Rudd, Adam Baldwin, Kristen Bell and Donald Glover. But I'm biased towards funny people.
