Anna Kendrick gives a 'Pow Pow' performance in LCD Soundsystem music video
MTV and Mean Magazine are launching a new music video series, and they've roped together some ecclectic talent: Anna Kendrick is slated to appear in LCD Soundsystem's "Pow Pow" clip, directed by writer David Ayer ("Training Day," "The Fast and the Furious").
"I didn't have their new album," Kendrick told MTV about her knowledge of LCD's newest "This Is Happening." "But this song is really cool too. The first time [I heard it], I was expecting straight-up melody or something. ... I can hear it every time we do a take, in my head. I'm kind of grooving. I can't help but groove to this song."
Her character in the music video is "just a normal, unassuming girl, but she's surrounded by enormous bodyguards, and the viewer isn't really sure why" and that Ayer suggested she get her inspiration from "Sunset Boulevard."
No word when the vid drops, but there's promise of "behind the scenes" promos before it goes live. Great.
