'PIrates of the Caribbean 5' gets a screenwriter

As HitFix told you last month, Johnny Depp and company will be back in two more 'Pirates of the Caribbean films after "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."

Those projects come one more step near realization with the news from Deadline that Disney has hired Terry Rossio to write the fifth installment. Yes, Rossio also wrote the first four installments but is going it alone this time without co writer Ted Elliott. Also being reported is the studios efforts to bring Rob Marshall back to direct the film, liking what he's been doing on "Stranger Tides" which is currently in post production with a May 201th 2011 release date.

None of this would be happening without the ever-busy Johnny Depp, but apparently his deal structure will bring him back. Of course first things first and as of now they've got a writer for the next script. It's a start.
