It took 28 years and lots and lots of convincing to get Disney to greenlight a sequel to 1982's "Tron," now Harry Knowles is reporting that the world may not have to wait that long for the next one as folks inside Disney are nearing "the tipping point" of approving a another film and taking the property into franchise land.  "Tron: Legacy" has made close to 300 million and apparently merchandise and toy sales have gone well enough for another film to make sense to the bean counters. Fans of Tron are a passionate and very patient bunch that will thrill to hear that they may not even have to wait for another movie before they can return to the Grid as a TV show is also in development that would air long before another film hit theaters.
