NBC has decided not to order additional episodes of "Trauma" and to halt production after the completion of its original 13-episode order.
For fans of "Trauma," obviously in short supply, NBC is expected to air some percentage of the remaining episodes, according to Variety
. Because what else would NBC air instead?
The writing for "Trauma" has been on the wall since NBC gave back-nine orders to both "Community" and "Mercy." Given how "Trauma" has managed to lose viewers from the already dismal "Heroes" audience, the lack of a back-nine wasn't much of a surprise either.
Speculation has immediately sprung up regarding what show will take the "Trauma" slot on Monday nights. The candidates include midseason dramedy "Parenthood" and cult favorite "Chuck," which is expected to be ordered for an additional six episodes, bringing its third season to 19 hours.
