Hugh Jackman decides to skip hosting this year's Oscars
It wasn't really a surprise to Awards Campaign, but Hugh Jackman has officially bowed out of hosting the 2010 Academy Awards. The actor is currently on Broadway alongside Daniel Craig in the drama "A Steady Rain." Jackman actually turned down the job, however, before producers Tom Sherak and Adam Shankman came on board. Officially, Jackman's reps are saying its because Jackman didn't want to host two years in a row and wanted to take some time off to prepare for his next onscreen role in the DreamWorks drama "Real Steel" which begins production this spring. Awards Campaign has heard another contributing factor may have been that Jackman and his longtime producing partner weren't asked to produce the show themselves (yikes). Whether that will be offered in the future is unclear, but the man better known to most moviegoers as Wolverine has left the door open to return down the road.
