'Happy Endings' and 'Body of Proof' appear to be dead
Sorry, "Happy Endings" fans. It doesn't look like any guardian angel is going to step in to rescue the cult ABC comedy.
According to Deadline.com talks between Sony Pictures TV and USA ended this week, with USA deciding to concentrate on originally developed comedies, including the newly ordered "Sirens" and "Playing House."
The Deadline story doesn't want to kill off all hope, however, claiming that "the studio continues conversations with other possible distributors," though it seems that those wouldn't be network or cable options.
It also appears that ABC Studios wasn't able to find hope for the Dana Delany procedural "Body of Proof," which was being pitched to cable outlets after ABC can canceled it despite a DVR-adjusted audience of 11 million weekly viewers.
