Mel Gibson and 'Lethal Weapon' creator re-teaming
Mel Gibson is appearing in front of cameras for the first time in seven years this weekend with the new thriller "Edge of Darkness," but his next acting gig won't be that long a wait. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gibson may reunite with "Lethal Weapon" screenwriter and creator Shane Black for his new spy thriller "Cold Warrior."
The flick would find Gibson playing a retired Cold War spy recruited to tackle a domestic terrorism threat from Russia. And just to keep the teens interested, he'd team up with a younger agent in the process.
The flick would be Black's second directorial feature after the now cult favorite "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang," but the dealmaking is still in the early stages.
Gibson, on the other hand, has already finished shooting the Jodie Foster directed comedy "The Beaver" and will soon begin production on the new thriller "How I Spent My Summer Vacation."
